Here's our story as it unfolds one day at a time.

Hmm

We have a rule in our house,

it has something to do with only being able to play video games on the weekends or special occasions.
Then I wonder why Ardon has a game system out right now.
.
I think maybe it has something to do with this guy.
It could have to do with the fact that he's felling pretty good about having this Wednesday off, the first one he's had off in months!
.

Or maybe it's because someone has a birthday in a couple days and that qualifies as a 'special occasion'.
Whatever the reason I wont complain because my house is nice and quiet right now and I get to make dinner in the kitchen all by myself!

Our Sunny Saturday... So Far

Today we got out some of our foam crafting supplies. I decided to cut up pieces so we could make necklaces.
.

We used yarn and a big dull needle to thread the foam pieces together.
.

Then we stuck the letters in Ardon's name to some other foam pieces.
.

He told me if he wore it like this then he looked like a flower.
.

Interest in our craft quickly faded though when daddy broke out the tools to work on a chair.
.

Elee and I however continued crafting so she could have a necklace too!

Spuds

Elee has been trying to get me to open a bag of potatoes that I've had next to the fridge for a couple days. She was trying to drag them around with her today and I decided they might prove to be good entertainment for a while.
.
She took some out of the bag and put them in her bowl.
.
Ardon got his own bowl and they got busy trading, rolling and throwing potatoes.
.
Elee tried putting them back in the bag.
.

They wiped them,
.
wore them,
.
and tasted them.
.
But then it was time to get a real snack.
.
Blueberries, yum! I found a great deal on them the other day and we love to eat fresh fruit!
.

Elee wanted to make sure that Ardon was eating some too.
These tasted much better than the potatoes and were gone in no time!

Crafting a Cat

A while back I found some craft kits in the clearance isle of the store. There were different kits and each one had multiple things to make. At a dollar a piece I grabbed several of them and they have turned out very handy.
.

We are down to our last few things to make so today we decided on a cat puppet.
.

I peeled the backs off and Ardon stuck all the parts together.
.

Elee decided to check out our progress.
.

But then she decided it was more fun to go snuggle with Mr. Frog and George.
.

The finished product. The head initially ended up on the stomach but once we straightened that out he did pretty good getting everything else in the right place.

- BREAD -

Bronze has been bringing home a lot of bread from work lately. Ardon thinks it's fun to dig through the boxes and see what we end up with.
.
He found this loaf and asked if he could eat it and since there is no shortage of bread in our house we let him have at it.
.
Elee wandered into the room and thought eating bread straight from the loaf looked like fun as well.
.

They sat there in the kitchen, happy as could be, munching on their loaf of bread!

Tink & Tattoos

It may be a little early to break out the Valentines decor, but with Bronze working nearly 65 hours a week and my children crawling the walls from being couped up we do what we can to pass the time.
.
Bronze's mom gave the kids some Valentine themed window decals. Ardon was really excited about them so we went ahead and put them on the back door.
.
Elee helped/chewed on them.
.

Sorry for the picture quality, my 3mp camera is a little outdated!
.
After decorating the door Ardon found some tattoos while digging through our junk drawer. He got a wet rag and gave us all tattoos.
.
I ended up with a heart on my foot.
.
Elee had 'Love' on her hand.
.
And Ardon....
.

got a big heart on his arm.
.
I am greatful for the job security that comes with Bronze's crazy work schedule, but I will also be greatful for a time when we get to have him home with us regularly again!

Our Play Today

The kids and I have been around the house a lot lately. Between me not feeling well and now the snow and ice we get to feeling a bit couped up. We try to find different things to occupy our time and today Ardon thought it would be a good day for play dough and I was in agreement!
.
.
We hadn't dug out the dough for a long time so Ardon really got into 'cooking' play dough food.
.

.
Dinner is served!
.
.
Elee also got to play with some play dough. This was her first time. I debated about if I was going to let her have some or not but she was so excited about it that I decided to let her join in on the fun.
.

.
She thought it was great to poke holes in and 'skish'.
Occasionally I would hear a gagging and spitting sound from the times that she misunderstood Ardon's play food for the real thing but for the most part she did pretty well with it. Hurray for tons of entertainment provided by simple dough!

Time For A Trim

.
I love Ardon's shaggy hair. It's always hard for me to take the scissors to it but it was definitely time to get it trimmed up.
.

.
Ardon likes his hair longer as well but I think he will enjoy it being out of his way and not getting so tangled when he sleeps on it.

In The Wee Hours

It is about 5 a.m. and I have been awake for over 2 hours. I couldn't stand tossing and turning in bed any longer so here I am, messing with/messing up my blog. Oh, and by the way, I'm eating these....
So far I've eaten 3 of them, I think they were the prettiest 3 too! That's what happens when you put a pregnant woman in a room all alone with chocolates at this time of the night/morning. And believe it or not, I'm not really a 'chocolate' person. These little bits of heaven could turn anyone though. I wasn't feeling well when I first woke up but after three of these babies I'm a new woman! Wonder how I'll feel after a 4th??? Maybe I should go find out.....
