Here's our story as it unfolds one day at a time.

New Sleeping Arrangements

We don't know if they are permanent, but we are trying some new things!

Tee Ball

Cold wintery days call for in door activities that burn off energy. As I saw Eliad and Elee throwing balls/swinging bats at each other in an attempt to play baseball while Ardon and I were doing school I decided to redirect them a bit to hopefully avoid injury. With a few supplies we came up with a homemade tee that worked out pretty well. The pictures are a bit blurry but it's hard to get clear action shots at a ball game!

Cooking Creepy Crawlies

The kids have been digging through old toy boxes to keep themselves entertained the last few days. Ardon brought out his bug making supplies and asked if he could make some critters. Eliad was very interested in this whole process and when I had my back turned he'd hoisted himself up onto the counter so he could be close to the action.

Treat Time

The other day we decided to take the kids out for special ice cream, this means that instead of a 79 cent kids cone we went to a place with $1.49 kids cones that are half the size. :-P Here though you have an abundance of flavors to test with tiny spoons before you make a decision on your flavor. I wasn't very impressed but they thought it was great fun!

Cousin Time

Last week Shylee and Emmy came over for the afternoon while Ryan had an appointment. The kids had a lot of fun playing, they ran around the house making tents and dancing and I whipped up a batch of cookie dough that they each got to make their own cookie shapes with. It was a fun busy day.

Cooking Companions

I almost always have at least one helper when I'm working in the kitchen and even though there would be less mess and it might be quicker or easier to work alone, I try to incorporate the kids when I can.
The other day I decided to let the kids make a snack themselves, adult supervised of course, but rotating all the steps between them. They did well taking turns and had fun making rice crispy treats.

The Last Few Weeks

Well, I have tried to write a couple posts lately but can never seem to get to our main computer when it's cooperating to publish the final thing. I guess I will just have to do a "phone" post, which means all of my text is bunched together and the pictures are at the end. Oh well.
Things have been busy, we started off by helping out with a wedding a few weeks ago. One of Bronze's best childhood friends got married and asked him to be the best man. Things were so crazy that the only picture I got was of our work decorating the truck :-P
After all of that excitement, we finished getting the house all ready for an out of town guest but got horribly sick with a stomach bug just before she got here and through the first part of her trip. It was rough and hit our whole house hold.
We did some painting some time in there, the kids wanted to help with the walls but I redirected them to water colors while Bronze finished up the places that weren't as easy for me to reach.
When we were finally well enough we spent time sanitizing the house and getting it ready again for grandma who had come for a visit from Santa Fe. Once again I have no pictures on my phone since we used Bronze's to snap them so you will just have imagine a big open suit case with grandma passing out goodies, the kiddos sitting piled around grandma as she plays with them and all the smiles and laughter that normally comes with her visits.
We also went "candy collecting" during her time here, I threw costumes together last minute with stuff I had around the house. I didn't think we'd even be well enough to get out so I had not put anything together ahead of time. It was mostly fun except for the part when we got home to take pictures and Elee was upset because her bucket was too heavy, what a problem to have!
The candy buckets have been prized possessions since then and occasionally I will find someone hiding their sugary stash in a corner somewhere. But others prefer the less sweet treats they got, like popcorn.
Finally we have ended up with sniffles and coughs again, UGH! This of couse means we break out the hot drinks even more often, the one perk of this sort of thing I suppose. Hopefully we can get past everything and stay well for a while after this.
