Here's our story as it unfolds one day at a time.

My White Bearded Man

No, I'm not talking about Bronze even though his greys are sprouting before mine ;-) but about this little guy who is hopelessly obsessed with any and all bubbles!

Cousins for Company

This afternoon the kids got to hang out with their cousins Shylee and Ember, it was a fun and busy time. They came over to visit and have lunch with us then played for a bit. After some play time we grouped everyone together in the kitchen to make a mess, er I mean, snickerdoodles and eat cookie dough of course! When the cookies were done baking everyone sat down to watch a show and have a snack and we finished off the afternoon with a little bit of play time outside since it ended up being so nice today.

Pulling Out Treasures

Today, for the first of many more times to come I'm sure, I pulled out my wedding veil for Elee see and try on. She said it looked 'ingenious' when she saw herself in the mirror and was thrilled to say the least!

Completed

Even though we did pre-school activities last year, this is our first official year of homeschooling. We have hit it pretty hard, taking minimal breaks to be done in time for upcoming wedding festivities and out of town guests, we've also been using some more intensive curriculums to give us a solid start on home education. It has been a good but challenging and busy year trying to balance planning and teaching while caring for a 1 & 3 year old, keeping up with household duties along with being a wife and mother and making some major healthy lifestyle changes to name a few.
As we are nearing the end of our first school year we are feeling excited, not just for the needed break but also the sense of accomplishment that comes from all the hard work! We will be finishing up gradually over the next few weeks and will eventually start a summer review program to keep new concepts fresh. We just completed our math program today, 3 weeks left!

Bubbles

My mom put together a spring basket for us last week and filled it with little goodies for everyone to enjoy. There were things like ping pong balls for Bronze, snack sized peanut butter cups for me and miscellaneous fun things for the kids like gum and jump ropes. Last week the kids were obsessed with the jump ropes. They have never had their own ropes before and thought it was great fun to tie them to everything (including their little brother) and run like wild around the house. This week the spill proof bubbles they got are all the rage. They had been constantly asking when we could open up and use them. I was a little skeptical about the 'proof' part and figured 'spill' was the only thing definite with bubbles, however I have been pleasantly surprised with how well they work as Eliad has tumbled multiple times and I have yet to find a spill!

Time For a Shower

Yesterday was a busy day at our house, we are just over a month away from Bronze's brothers wedding and it was time for a shower! It was at our house since the setup works well for get togethers and we had a good sized group show, about 25. There was a lot of snacking and socializing and fun shower games of course!
Bronze took the kids out for the day and they did lots of fun stuff, from shopping clearance racks at Target to exploring parks they had never visited. I'll have to post pictures of their escapades later. I think proof of their fun was the fact that Eliad fell asleep at 5 yesterday evening and slept until 7 this morning!
I'm glad a good day was had by all and thankful for my husband who wrangled the kids for the afternoon so I could be free to enjoy the shower!

The Hunt

As usual, the egg hunt at church was a lot of fun. This year the kids were all big enough to run around gathering eggs mostly by themselves so it was a lot of fun to watch them. Eliad had develoved his own method which was throwing the eggs down until they popped open so he could grab the candy inside and Bronze followed him to collect all the left behind eggs!
