Play Time Things

Fun with face paint.
.
.
I guess I should say body paint.
.

.
He told me he was turning into a green army guy.
.
.
Elee's been working on sitting up by her self.
.
.
Today we got out a 'Cootie' bug game. Ardon loves to play with these, today he was pretending they were food items he was making for me.
.
.
Of course Elee wanted to get in on the fun too, although she seemed a little confused as to why we were trying to eat them.
.

.
They had a lot of fun and it entertained them both for a while.
I did stay close though to make sure no little pieces got swallowed.

Stretching

The carpet that is.
.
We had not stretched our carpet since we originally put it in and it was starting to get noticeable. Yesterday we decided to rent a stretcher and get it taken care of.
.
We had to move the furniture all around to do it so Elee got stuck in the corner behind the recliner. She didn't mind too much.
.
Ardon thought it was great because he got to sit on the couch in the kitchen and eat popcorn.

Good-bye Santa Fe

One evening at Uncle Tom and Aunt Netta's we spent time visiting, playing games, and jamming together.
.
Here the vocalists are singing along to the 'Ring of Fire',
.
Grandma even learned a cord so she could play along with the musicians.
.
Our final farewell consisted of our traditional send off meal at Dion's and dessert back at the house before leaving. We had a great time and lots of laughs.
.
Here Grandma had joked about sitting on Grandpa's lap to feed him dessert. We encouraged it for a photo op and she obliged, even though she was afraid of sliding off his lap. Grandpa was not as excited about it as the rest of us (can you tell by his face?!). It was a great laugh for everyone(excluding Grandpa of course;-). We love you guys and miss you all a lot!
.
.
Hope to see you all again soon!

While In Santa Fe...

(WARNING-Long and picture heavy post)
.
.
Elee go her first pedicure.
.
Grandpa got a trim,

.
And a shave.

.
We spent a lot of time outside enjoying the beautiful climate.
.
Elee enjoyed snacks,

.
lots of snacks.
.
Great Grandma introduced Ardon the the game 'Green Ghost'.
(sorry for the fuzzy pictures)
.
Then they switched places for a while.
.
Even daddy decided to get in on the fun.
.
Then came what Ardon had been waiting the whole trip for.
.
A bath out on the front lawn.
.
He and Grandma had planned this before we even left town, it's all he talked about the week before we went on our trip.

.
Grandma even boiled big pots of hot water so that it would be a nice warm bath.
.
Then she told him he should wave at the cars driving by, so he did.
.
She asked if he wanted her to get a suit on and climb in the tub with him, of course he thought that would be a great idea. She didn't then but maybe next time ;-)
.
What a great time and good memory to make!
.
You made it to the end of this post! I think we have one more trip post to come.

And Finally...

Some pictures of the people we went to
Santa Fe to see.
.

Ardon and Grandma in the kitchen starting supper together.
.
Grandpa stopped in to see what was cooking.
.
Elee and Grandma visiting out on the lawn.
.

The kids absolutely LOVE their great grandma, Ardon keeps telling me he doesn't like our house any more and that we need to go back to her house in Santa Fe.
.
I don't know how, but we missed getting pictures of Bronze's dad and Uncle Tom and Aunt Netta, maybe we can get some super imposed somehow;-)

Tea Party Time

One of the main reasons for our trip to Santa Fe was to help Grandma Leyba celebrate her 80th birthday with a surprise party.
.
We got all dressed up in our tea party attire.
.
Princess Elee,
.
complete with her crown,
.

and practicing her 'little finger lift' for when she can drink cup of tea.
.

She also enjoyed the flower gardens!
.
.
Prince Ardon,
.

enjoying his cup of tea.
.
Then he decided to don his cape and crown and venture off to battle the Aunts and Sir Grandpa in search of a great conquest!

Starting Our Long Journey

Two weeks ago we started our long drive to Santa Fe, NM. A few days before we left town we found out our van has a couple 'leaks' but that it would probably make the trip okay as long as we took extra fluids with us. The next day our engine light came on, we weren't off to a great start. My parents offered for us to use one of their vehicles and since we now have not just one, but two children we decided to err on the side of caution and good judgement and accept the offer.
After driving all night and into the morning we finally made it. We actually made pretty good time, 10 1/2 hours, and we only had to make one stop for gas.

The kids actually ended up awake for a lot of the trip but they did an incredible job and made traveling a lot easier than I thought it would be.

We were all exhausted by the time we got there.

Ardon even fell asleep in this booth when we stopped to grab something to eat.
.
Ah, sleep sweet sleep!
.
Even though we've been back for a week it feels like we're still trying to catch up.
.
(More Santa Fe to come....)

Here We Go....

We have been so busy the last couple weeks, house projects, Bronze taking time off work and a major road trip together. Here is a post to start catching us up on all our adventures!
.
First off,
Elee turned 8 months old on May 26th.
.

Getting so big!
She's become very good friends with her pacifier recently.
.

She decided to have a ring pop to celebrate, it also aided mommy in getting some house work done ;)
