My Potato Heads

They were playing quietly in the bedroom
.

Then they came around the corner like this
.

and this.
These 2 light up my day.
Through the chaos and cuteness there's never a dull moment!

Random Wednesday

Some things we've been doing this week...
.

A popcorn party while watching Curious George.
.

Poking puppies and yelling 'don't push!' to them.
(Somehow these have ended up being her 2 favorite words right now, we've not had a pushing problem so I'm not sure where it came from!)
.

Enjoying the fresh air.
(Dogs on the other side of the fence starting barking at them & it upset Elee a little. Ardon ran to get a toy sword and went back to yell at the dogs, "Be quiet, you're scaring my sister!" I love it that he's so protective of his little sister all ready!)
.

Enjoying some candy daddy brought home.
.
We had a wild wrestling match at our house last night!
.
New pj's from Meme to sleep in our new bed with.
.

And sweet snuggle time together while reading a story.

Time For Something New

We have been wanting to get Ardon a new bed for quite some time. He's been sleeping in a hand-me-down toddler bed that we used a crib mattress on. He had definitely outgrown it! We bought the bed frame and stored it in our garage and finally decided on a mattress yesterday.
.
We mentioned a new bed around him a couple times but he didn't know we had bought anything. Yesterday we had him lay down for quiet time in our room while we put everything together. Needless to say he was very surprised when we brought him out to see his new bed.
.

He really likes it and so far has slept great on it!

Things That Are Growing...

This bump,

and baby #3.

.

I am finally starting to feel a little more human(less of the all day morning sickness) and a lot more pregnant! Baby is measuring about 20 weeks and moving all the time, he/she is going to have a lot to keep up with out here!

Turkey Turned Parrot

I found a craft bucket at the store a couple weeks ago, it has miscellaneous crafting supplies and ideas of things to make. It had been marked down multiple times and they were running a clearance isle special while we were there so I ended up getting the bucket of goodies for $1.50!
.
One of the ideas included in the bucket was a turkey. We decided to change it up a bit and turn the turkey into a parrot.

Ardon thought it was lots of fun and decided to share his 'rice-kris-a-pea' (as he likes to call them) treat with it.

Amore

She wandered over to see what he was doing.
.

All fixed up with the things she found in her toy box.
.

Then I saw this, it made me smile, inside and out!

Under The Weather

We've been feeling a little under the weather this week.
.
Between head colds, coughs and voices that wound up missing this morning we just haven't been up to par.
.

We've been trying to take it easy.
.

Getting some rest so we can recuperate.
.

I was disappointed, so far we had been able to avoid all of the bugs going around. Hopefully this will be the only one we will have to put up with and we'll be feeling better soon!

A Lone Cap

She found this stocking cap in our coat/shoe box.
.

She also put it on all by herself.
.

She likes the blue, it matches her eyes.
.

She doesn't want to wear anything else, cloths included.
.

I think she would live in the cap and a diaper alone and be content, if I let her that is. However since the temperature is dropping and bed time is drawing near I am going to shatter her little world and go get her dressed in pj's now.

A Quick Birthday Party Recap

We had Ardon's actual party for his birthday last Saturday evening.

He told me that he wanted a blue party with a matching cake so we had blue cake with white and blue frosting.
.

We opted to have the party at Chuck E. Cheese, I hadn't been there in a LONG time.
.

He got blue peeps from Uncle Breeze.

(By the way, I wouldn't recommend this place on a Saturday!)
.

And lots of other goodies!

(Did I mention how cram packed of people this place was!!!)
.

A fun new hamster pet! We've opened this at home, I had no idea how crazy these things were, the kids love it!

(By the way, did I mention how crazy and busy this place was!!! Definitely not a place to go if you don't care for mass mobs! Bronze was great, he can't stand crowded places but he dealt with it graciously!)
.
Our evening was loud, wild and full of insanity, the kids loved it!

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it out to help us celebrate Ardon's special day, and for braving the left over snow and mad house where we ended up!

Home at Last

He finally made it!

Bronze just got home about an hour ago after a night in western Kansas. He ran out of hours allotted by KDOT so legally he couldn't come home. We were originally told he would have to pick up and start running another rout as soon as he got back but thankfully he got back so late that they all ready had the other routs covered. We haven't seen him since Tuesday evening so we're just grateful to finally have him home!

Sno-Cream

I am tired of the snow.
.
I'm not really a snow person and I don't like the fact that it keeps me stuck in my house when I need to run to the store for milk. I don't like having dried, salty snow spots all over my wood floors. And I really don't like that my husband has to drive a semi, starting at 3am, a better part of the way to Colorado in the snow. Not to mention that he gets out to tromp around in the snow every little bit hauling thousands of pounds of deliveries up and down a ramp. Then he comes home, usually after at least 16 hours, cold, wet and hardly able to move. Not to mention he's developed a respiratory infection that he's having to work through.
As beautiful as the snowy landscape seems, I cringe every time I look out side and think about my poor husband. I am so thankful for this man that is not only willing, but capable of putting in such hard work and long hours to support our family!
.
That being said, there is one up side to mounds of snow, sno-cream. Let me show you.
.

First comes collecting the snow.
.
Mix up a little milk and sugar.
.
Then ad some vanilla.
.
Mix,
.
and serve.
.
This is Ardon's first time for sno-cream, wonder what he'll think.
.
It's a hit, now he'll never be content to eat plain snow again!
.
Elee wasn't feeling quite sure about eating discolored snow.
.
So she decided to stick with chips.
.
I remember my mom making this for Jason and I when we were young. Some people might think, ewe, I can't believe you actually let/encourage your kids eat snow! As strange as it may seem, if you knew what you ate at most restaurants you would probably never eat out again! Trust me, my husband has been in the back of many 'reputable' restaurants and there are all sorts of things involved with the food you wouldn't believe! So from my perspective and knowledge of much food prep that goes on, I believe snow, especially in these quantities, to be fairly clean and harmless!

Birthday Boy

4 years old! It's hard to believe.
As soon as he got up this morning we brought out his gifts and balloons, he seemed a little disoriented but excited at the same time.
.
He got to open a small gift while we waited for Elee to wake up.
.
What could it be?
.

Noise putty! Lots of slimy, silly sounding fun!

Drifts

So how big are your drifts?
This is my small one, I'll try to show you the big one later!
.

I actually had to venture out into this stuff today and drug my poor children with me. It was crazy and once I got out I wondered what in the world I was doing. It was for a valid reason though, I had a doctor appointment and it was one of those that if you don't make it they might not be able to get you back in within the month. It was a cold scary adventure, my children thought it was great. They hollered and cheered as we tried multiple times to get back into our driveway and then clapped when we succeeded.
Poor Bronze didn't have as much luck as we did, he got stuck 3 times. He would pull up somewhere and unload his trailer then wouldn't have enough weight to get back out. The blessing though was he was seen shoveling and one time another truck offered to help pull him out. The second time some guys with a bobcat saw him and offered to dig him out. He had to work over 13 hours in the nasty weather and now they are mandating all drivers work Saturday to catch up on deliveries. At least he did make it home last night, and in one piece with no accidents. He was pretty stiff and sore and it took a while for him to thaw out but at least he'll get to recuperate today.
