I like to talk about my kids, lets face it, they're kind of a big part of what goes on in my world. Ardon is a great kid, always willing to help me around the house and with his little sister and brother. Sure, we have to deal with normal day to day things like anyone but generally speaking he is a great kid who's easy going and can get along with just about anyone. That being said, I am confident in who he is and is becoming as he is growing up and don't feel like I need to show him off or brag but today he earned his time in the spotlight. Ardon has been taking Taekwondo for a couple weeks now. It has given us a busier schedule but he has really enjoyed it and we have enjoyed watching the classes. Today there was a special event that you could sign up for separately from the regular classes, it was board breaking. We debated on weather or not to sign him up since he hasn't been taking lessons that long but he wanted to give it a shot. Before the actual board breaking took place the instructor gave an hour and a half instructional class. When the time came I wasn't sure what to expect, we were originally told they would have plastic breakaway boards that you can use over and over but as we stood there watching the class we noticed a stack of fresh cut regular boards. Ardon went up at his turn and even though I was nervous, he seemed very confident. To my surprise and that of the man holding the board, he went up and put his hand right through it! It was very exciting. Once we left and were out in the car driving Ardon spoke up from the back seat, "Hey you know how he said to think of your worst enemy and to get angry and picture them as you break the board? Well I thought of my school."
Hm, not quite what I expected but I'm glad I can provide inspiration for him, I think.
Here's our story as it unfolds one day at a time.
