After an absolutely wonderful week in Santa fe we are back in Wichita. We kept ourselves busy while we were down there and had so much fun that I didn't end up taking time away to blog.
Here is a little bit of what went on while we were there, I didn't get as many pictures as usual so I'm going to try to get some from Bronze to share as well.

We're Making Progress
Things have been moving along pretty smoothly. This is the first time we done this much traveling during the day, usually we go at night so the kids will sleep most of the way. We've been on the road for a little over 6 hours, about 3 &1/2 more to go depend on what stops we make.

Elee to the Rescue
I was in my room the other day when Elee came running in hollering that Eliad was stuck on the counter and needed help. Since it's not unusual for this kind of thing to happen at our house I told her I would be there as soon as I could and to tell him to stay still. When I came I found them like this, I guess he had climbed up trying to get his chapstick and got stuck coming down so she told me she grabbed onto the back of him to help keep him up.

Sweeter Side of School
We started back to school from Christmas break this week since we are going to be taking some time off soon when Bronze actually has vacation. In our science we read about bees, hive making and honey. As a hands on activity we used a real section of honeycomb so we could see what it looks like up close and then taste it more directly from the source. Elee was very dramatic about how gross it was (well if you know all the ends and outs of how honeycomb is made and that it's done by insects then you might feel somewhat the same) and ran out of the kitchen with her hands over her mouth. Ardon, my child with a more adventurous spirit, thought it was pretty cool and was happy to try some on toast.

13.1 Miles Just Got A Little Bit Shorter
After months of training alone in rain, wind, snow and extreme temperatures, yesterday was finally the day. It was my first organized group run, a half marathon. I was nervous and excited leading up to the the event, I had invested so much time and energy into preparation for this run. There was a pretty good sized group and registrations for the run had exceeded the planners expectations so there was a lot of excitement.
As an added bonus to the day Bronze was surprised with the day off since his route was canceled and they had extra drivers so he and the kids got to see me off and come back to see me finish.
The weather started off pretty nice but temperatures dropped drastically during the run. I ended up running against about 30mph winds for the last half and it was really cold but my family including my parents were waiting at the end to cheer me across the finish line.
I really enjoyed being able to participate in a half marathon and kind of thought it would just be one of those thing to check off the bucket list but now that I've finished I find myself thinking I'd like to do another one and maybe improve my time.
I don't know when or if there will be another one for certain but hope there will be.
